Two-day national seminar on “Women Empowerment & Reproductive Rights in Northwest India” on 6-7 October 2006, New Delhi. Various panelists and activists of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttranchal, Jammu and Kashmir have presented their papers in this seminar. HIV-AIDS and its Impact on Indian Economy. A night talk was organized by the Society on 17 May, 2002 at Kaveri Hostel. Prof. Uttam Pati, CBT, JNU and Dr. Dipankar Sengupta, Jammu University spoke on that occasion.
Human Rights in Iraq and the UN Sanctions, night talk on 16 February 2002 at Jhelum Hostel Mess, JNU, New Delhi. Iraqi Ambassador Dr. Salah – Al- Mukhtar (then) was the Chief Guest. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Ehsanul Haq, CSSS, JNU.
Restoration of Democracy in Burma Symposia. On 16 July 2001. It was half-day discussion programme. Prof. Gnganath Jha, SIS, JNU and Prof. Dervesh Goplal, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, spoke on that occasion. The venue was Aravali Guest House, JNU.
Dinkar Jyanti half-day symposia on 14 September 2001. It was in the memory of late Rashtra Kavi Dr. Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. The venue was Aravali Guest House, JNU. The prominent speakers were Dr. Baldev Bansi, DU, Dr. Dr. Jyotisar Sharma, Prof. R. Kumar, JNU, Prof. Vasant Gadre, JNU and few others.
American attack on Taliban and International war Against Terror night talk was organized on 17 October 2001 at Jhelum Hostel. Prof. Kalim Bahadur, SIS, JNU and Dr. Ved Pratap Vedik, eminent journalist spoke on that occasion.
SURVEY AND AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Literacy Promotion Programme was launched in the Sikar district of Rajasthan in October 2005. It concluded with the prize distribution ceremony on 3 October 2005 at Sikar.
One day HIV AIDS Awareness Programme for PRI,S representative in Bhagalpur, Bihar on 3 April 2005. Speakers were Prof. Ehasanul Haq, Prof. Ganganath Jha, Dr. Govind Mishra, IIT, New Delhi and Dr.R.S. Saiani JNU, Prof C.P. Singh, T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bihar and various elected members of PRI of the district.
We carried out a Survey of sanitation facilities of Patna town of Bihar in December-January 2005-2006.
We have carried out a survey of HIV-AIDS effected people at Bhagalpur district of Bihar in Feb-March 2004.
HIV-AIDS Awareness Promotion Programme was launched in the Sikar district of Rajasthan in January 2004. It conclusion was prize distribution ceremony on 3 February 2004 at Ajitgarh Secondary School, Sikar.
The Society monitored rainwater-harvesting project in Kumoun district of Uttaranchal in April-May 2004.
Society carried out a survey of Jawaharlal Nehru University students for knowing the facts about their Tobacco Consumption in April 2003.
Society monitored development project by some private sector agencies in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh in January-March 2003.
The Society launched the AIDS Awareness Programme in Bhagalpur district of Bihar, India between 10 to 15 April 2001. It was the activity of whole district and concluded with one district mela on 15 April 2001.
